Fever (jwara)
Fever first comes in the form of pointing it out before the diseases occur in the body and only then do those diseases appear in their original form.
Here are the detailed symptoms of fever which are called jwara in Ayurveda and presented the efforts to cure it.
Origination and type of fever
False eating spoils the gas, bile, and phlegm (Vata, pitta, and Kapha) in the stomach. The juice of this wrong diet disturbs these three doshas and slows down the digestive power.The heat of the gastrointestinal tract goes out from there and warms all the organs of the body which we know as fever.
There are eight types of fever described in Ayurveda.
1 fever of Vata
2 Fever of Pitta (Bile)
3 fever of Kapha (Cuff)
4 Fever of Vata and Pitta
5 Fever of Vata and Kapha
6 Fever of Kapha and Pitta
7 Fever of Delirium (sannipata)
8 Fever of Adventitious (aagantuka)
Symptoms of fever
When there is fever in the body, the body becomes hot, there is no sweating, there is no thirst, all the organs of the body become tight, there is headache, there is a pain in the limbs, there is no feeling in any object and there are disturbances. Know that he has a fever if he has all these symptoms.
Symptoms of Vataj fever
Body parts tremble, the body is hotter than usual, Dryness in the throat, lips, and mouth, sleep and sneezing do not occur, body aches, headache, limbs ache, taste in mouth disappears, the stool does not come out, abdominal cramps, windiness in the stomach, If there is a lot of yawns, know that it is a fever of Vata.
Fever of delirium (Tridosha)
The primary remedy for all types of fever
Give hot water to the person who has a high fever. Seeing the strength of the patient, Give him a light fast or a diet and a light meal. Keep the patient in a clean place without excessive wind and bad air and without moisture. Lay him down on a beautiful, soft, and thin bed and do not give medicines that are bitter and irritating for three days.
After making these efforts, a decoction of 3.5-gram ginger and 3.5-gram coriander gives to the patient so that the fever disappears and hunger is felt.
Remedy for fever of Vata
green chirayta, Sweet Cyperus, vetiver, Solanum indicum, dwarf wild brinjal, heart-leaved moonseed of neem, Land caltrops, Alysicarpus tetragonolobus, Alysicarpus monilifer, and Dry ginger. Taking all these herbs in equal parts and pounding them then making (decoction) kawath according to the ritual of decoction and giving it to the patient, the fever of Vata is destroyed.
Kawath (Decoction)
Dry ginger, heart-leaved moonseed of neem, Fagonia indica, camel thorn, cyclea peltata, Zedoary, Justicia adhatoda, castor root, and Inula racemosa. Take all the medicine and pound them and make a Kawath (decoction). Giving this decoction to the patient destroys the fever caused by Vata.
Hinguleshwar Ras
Take pure cinnabar, Pepper, and Pure glory lily and knead well with water in a mortar and make small tablets like half a Ratti. Taking this pill once a day, and consecutively 5 pills (every day one) destroys the fever of Vata.
Kawath (Decoction)
Take equal parts of asparagus and juice of neem’s Heart-leaved moonseed and make a (Kawath) decoction of it. If one tola (10 gram) of old jaggery is put in this decoction and given to the patient, the fever of Vata disappears.
Black grapes, pepper, butea monosperma, and fennel are the three herbs that take 1 – 1 tola and make a Kawath (decoction) of it and give it to the patient to get rid of Vata’s fever.
Diet and instruction
Patients with a fever of Vata have a diet of green gram, moth bean, masoor dal, and horse gram.
Use Kawath (decoction) after 3 days in the fever of vata.
Symptoms of Pitta’s fever (bile fever)
Inflammation of the eyes, sharp mouth, feeling thirsty, dizziness, idleness, body heat, high fever, thin stools, vomiting, loss of sleep, dry mouth, and dryness in sweating and stools. If the urine, stool, and eyes are yellow, know that it is (bile) Pitta’s fever.
Remedy for (bile) Pitta’s fever
Use herbal remedies of tranquilizing to Pitta for bile fever.
Kawath
Taking all the herbs and preparing the kawath (decoction) according to the ritual, and drinking this decoction so the bile (Pitta’s) fever is destroyed.
Grapes, Black heliebore, jaggary of golden shower tree, Sweet Cyperus, Myrobalan, and butea monosperma, all of these herbs are taken in equal proportions and made decoction and taken so cure many diseases like the fever of pitta, thirst, drowsiness, inflammation, fainting, idleness, dryness in throat, dizziness, and gonorrhoea of Pitta.
Pitta’s fever (bile fever) is cured by taking Kawath (decoction) prepared with butea monosperma, Sweet Cyperus, and green chirayta according to all herbs and drinking it for three days.
Red sander chips, wild Himalayan cherry, Coriander, heart-leaved moonseed of neem, and membrane of neem, all of these herbs are taken in equal proportions, and decoction (kawath) is taken to cure gallstones, inflammation, thirst, and vomiting. And increase the power of digestion.
Churna (Powder)
1 2 Masa (2 gram) catechu
2 2 Masa (2 gram) Black heliebore
3 24 Rati (3.25 gram) Rock sugar
4 24 Rati (3.25 gram) Viranwalow (a grass-like fragrant root)
Take the above medicine and make a fine powder of it and take it with hot water, it cures bile (Pitta) fever.
Beverage
Pittaj (bile) fever is cured if you take 24 Ratti of a Viranwalow (a grass-like fragrant root), and 24 Ratti of sandal to make a fine powder and mix it with 3 tolas of rock sugar in 6 tola falsa (Cranberry) syrup and drink it.
Another remedy for Pitta (bile) fever
Adding rock sugar in rice poppy’s water and drinking it removes troublesome bile (Pitta) fever.
Adding rock sugar and water in wheat flour and boiling it well on the fire and drinking a thin porridge cures biliary fever.
Drinking sweet pomegranate syrup cures biliary fever.
Adding rock salt in the syrup of cranberry and drinking it will cure biliary fever.
Adding sugar in the water of green gram lentils and drinking it kills biliary fever.
Drinking black grape syrup with rock sugar cures biliary fever.
Massage
Covering five to seven times white sesame seeds by rose petals and extract its oil. If this rose oil is rubbed on the body of a patient to biliary fever, then biliary fever is removed.
Applying ghee washed with water a hundred times or a thousand times on the body cures the biliary fever immediately.
Finely chop the neem leaves and churn well with water in it so that the water foams. Applying this foam on the body, or adding crushed kernel of beach almond to the foam and applying it on the body, the pain of inflammation is immediately removed.
Diet and instruction
In case of biliary fever, it is advisable to consume to mix rice and popcorn with rock sugar and yogurt in water.
It is beneficial to eat rice soaked with green gram soup with rock sugar and bile calming substances. Other than that it is unhealthy.
Use of decoction (Kawath) after 10 days in biliary fever.
Symptoms of phlegm (Kapha) fever
A person who is averse to food, has a stiff body and thrills-Fur stands up, nails become white, sleep is heavy, the body becomes cold, the mouth is sweetie, fever is not increased, lethargy occurs, shortness of breath and cough and catarrh. So to know that there is cough (Kapha) fever.
Remedy for phlegm fever
Decoction (Kawath)
The membrane of neem, Dry ginger, heart-leaved moonseed of neem, dwarf wild brinjal, Inula racemosa, Black heliebore, Zedoary, Justicia adhatoda, aromatic fruit of myristica, Pepper, and Asparagus. all these herbs are taken in equal quantity and make its kawath (decoction). This decoction is used to drink to cure phlegm (Kapha) fever.
Brinjal, the membrane of neem, dry ginger, and Inula racemosa are taken in equal proportions and its decoction drinks also cure phlegm fever, Vata fever, and brain (Tridosha) fever.
Dwarf wild brinjal, Pepper, Galls, heart-leaved moonseed of neem, and Justicia adhatoda. Take 2 tanks (4.4 grams) of each of these herbs and take it as a decoction and drink it to get rid of phlegm fever, shortness of breath, cough, and anorexia.
Drinking decoction (kawath) of Justicia adhatoda removes phlegm fever immediately.
Drinking (Kawath) decoction of Justicia adhatoda and Dry ginger with shitbhanji ras cures phlegm fever immediately.
Powder (Churna)
Take equal amounts of aromatic fruit of myristica, pepper, Galls, and Inula racemosa and make a fine powder. Take 1 tola (10 grams) of this powder and add honey to it. Licking this mixture cures diseases like phlegm fever, shortness of breath, and cough.
Dry ginger, black pepper, pepper, Plumbago zeylanica root, Pipramol, cumin, Caraway Seeds, cloves, cardamom, roasted asafoetida, carom seed, and Lovage. Take all these herbs in equal proportions and make a fine powder (churna). Drinking 1 teaspoon of this powder with hot water increases digestion, makes you feel hungry, and relieves phlegm fever.
Temperance
Give a little bit of boiled water to the patients suffering from phlegm fever.
12 To make light fasting. Patients with phlegm fever, tuberculosis patients, patients that have sharp digesting power, pregnant women, children, the elderly, timid or frightened, thirsty, and lean patients should not be done fast.
After fasting, it is beneficial and diet to drink a soup made from a mug, a monastery, or a horse gram.
Giving Citron’s saffron with rock salt is a diet.
Sleeping during the day is not good for health.
Symptoms of Vata and Pitta Fever (Vatapitaa jwar)
Patients who have fever due to both vata and pitta defects may experience fainting, dizziness, burning, loss of sleep, headache, sore throat and dry mouth, vomiting, excitement, anorexia, darkening of the eyes, pain all over the body, yawning, And patients do senseless talk, know that the patient is suffering from fever both dosha of vata and pitta.
The remedy for vatapitta fever
Kawath (Decoction)
Cordifolia seed (or the root of abutilon indicum), heart-leaved moonseed of neem, castor root, sweet cyperus, wild himalayan cherry, blue glory, Pepper, vetiver, and red sander chips, take all these herbs in 5 grams each and then make a decoction and consume it to get rid of vatapitta fever.
Take equal quantity of heart-leaved moonseed of neem, butea monosperma seeds, green chirayta, sweet cyperus, and dry ginger, make it decoction and drink it in proper quantity continuously, it cures vatapitaa fever.
Taking an equal quantity of heart-leaved moonseed of neem, butea monosperma seeds, dry ginger, sweet cyperus, and Justicia adhatoda, making it decoction and giving it to the patient in appropriate quantity, cures vatapitta fever.
Trichosanthes dioica, the membrane of neem, heart-leaved moonseed of neem, and black heliebore are all taken in equal proportions, and its decoction is taken to cure vatapitta fever.
Mahua, Liquorice, symplocos racemosa, Indian sarsaparilla, sweet cyperus, and jaggery of golden shower tree. Take all these herbs in equal parts and make it kawath. Drink this decoction to cure vatapitta fever.
Other treatments
Adding rock sugar and honey in rice popcorn’s water and drinking it cures vatapitta fever.
Dry ginger, black pepper, and pepper take and make its powder. Sieve this powder with a cloth. Adding honey to this powder and licking it destroys vatapitta fever.
Fever of vata and kapha (vatakapha jwar)
Symptoms of vatakapha fever
The patient who has a cough, anorexia, joint pain, headache, catarrh, tingling, trembling, body heaviness, insomnia, sweating, shortness of breath, abdominal cramps, vascular curvature and slowness like snake or swan, urine color like smoke or white, and If it is like antimony, the color of diarrhea is black and sticky, the color of the eye is same of smoke, The mouth remains like sweety, the tongue is black or white – white like water, throat sounds like a cough, the body feels cold, such symptoms are Then let know that patient is the dosha of vatakapha and that vatakapha fever has come.
Remedy for vatakapha Jwar (fever)
To make a patient with a fever with the above symptoms fast for 10 days. Give the patient boiled water that remains half when it’s boiled.
Kawath (Decoction)
Green chirayta, sweet cyperus, heart-leaved moonseed of neem, and dry ginger, all these herbs should be taken in equal amounts and its decoction should be made and drunk and if any dietary substance is consumed on it, no kind of nuisance will occur.
In this type of fever, if the following decoction is made and the patient drinks it, the fever will be destroyed immediately.
Aromatic fruit of myristica, cedar, blue glory, acorus calamus, sweet cyperus, coriander, butea monosperma seeds, myrobalan, dry ginger, and root of Indian beach tree. Take all these herbs in equal proportions and make it a decoction. If this decoction is drunk with honey and asafoetida, vatapitta fever will disappear and cough, hiccups, thirst, and shortness of breath and sore throat, etc. can be removed.
Sweet cyperus, butea monosperma seeds, heart-leaved moonseed, dry ginger, and fagonia indica are taken all these herbs in equal proportions. Prepare decoction (kawath) it and drink so cure vatakapha fever, vomiting, inflammation, dryness in the mouth, etc.
Dwarf wild brinjal, dry ginger, Pepper, and heart-leaved moonseed of neem are all herbs taken in equal proportions. Make it kawath (decoction) and to drink cure vatapitta fever.
Red alyce clover, Alysicarpus monilifer, dwarf wild brinjal, solanum indicum, land caltrops, the pulp of aegle marmelos fruit, spinous firebrand teak, gmelina arborea, justicia adhatoda, and stereospermum suaveolens. These ten types of roots its call dahsmula, take all these herbs and make kawath (decoction) and drink adding into pepper so the fever of vatakapha is eliminated.
Another remedy
If this fever causes dry mouth, dry palate, roughed tongue, then make a powder of rock salt and black pepper in citron saffron, make a paste of that powder and apply it on the tongue, remove absorption of the mouth and palate and the stiffness of the tongue.
Green chirayta, heart-leaved moonseed of neem, cedar, aromatic fruit of myristica, and acorus calamus, take the same amount all of these herbs and make soup it and drink it to get rid of vatakapha fever.
Fever of cough and bile (Kaphapitta fever)
Symptoms of kaphapitta fever
The patient’s mouth and tongue are covered with phlegm, drowsiness, nausea, cough, anorexia, increased thirst, body irritation, chills, body aches, chest pains, dizziness, loss of appetite, body tightening, the vein pulse are the same as swan and frog, urine and feces is redness with viscous and white, the eyes are greenish-yellow like frog’s eyes, the mouth is salty and bitter, the tongue is white and slightly red, then know that the patient is suffering from kaphapitta fever.
Remedy for kaphapitta fever
Patients suffering from kaphapitta fever should fast for 14 days and boil water till half part of the water is left from four parts of water and drink that water.
Decoction (Kawath)
Heart-leaved moonseed of neem, red sander chips, dry ginger, vetiver, aromatic fruit of myristica, and nilgiri barberry, Take these herbs in equal quantity and make a decoction of it and drink it to get rid of kaphapitta fever.
The membrane of neem, Red sander chips, black heliebore, heart-leaved moonseed of neem, and coriander are all taken in equal quantity. Make kawath with it and drink so kaphapitta fever goes away, Along with this, the decoction cures inflammation, anorexia, thirst, and vomiting and increases digesting power.
Take heart-leaved moonseed of neem, holarrhena pubescens, the membrane of neem, snake gourd, black heliebore, dry ginger, red sander chips, and sweet cyperus, Take all the herbs to make its fine powder. Drinking this powder with octavashesh water (boiled water till one-eighth is left) cures fever, shortness of breath, heat, chest pain, and anorexia. This medicine is called “Amatashtak Kawath”.
Heart-leaved moonseed of neem, dwarf wild brinjal, Solanum indicum, zedoary, nilgiri barberry, pepper, justicia adhatoda, trichosanthes dioica, the membrane of neem, and green chirayta, all these herbs are taken in equal quantity. make kawath by these herbs and drink two times to destroy kaphapitta fever.
Black grapes, jaggery of golden shower tree, coriander, black heliebore, pipramol, dry ginger, and pepper are all herbs taken in equal doses to make a decoction. Making decoction and drinking it both times destroys colic, Illusion, fainting, anorexia, vomiting, and kaphapitta fever.
Another remedy
1 5 tank (22 grams) pure mercury
2 5 tank (22 grams) pure sulfur
3 5 tank (22 grams) black pepper
4 5 tank (22 grams) pure borax
Take the above herbs and crush the fine powder and cover it with 7 times ginger juice then do the same process 7 times with leaf juice as well and knead well.
Make tablets according to the weight of 70 grams of this herb.
Taking one pill of this herb in the morning and one pill in the evening regularly and continuously for 3 consecutive days definitely destroys kaphapitta fever.
Fever of delirium (Tridosha-Sannipat fever)
Origin, diagnosis, and symptoms of delirium (Tridosha) fever
Origin
A person who eats too much greasy, too sour, too hot, too spicy, too sweetie, and too much dry food, eats too much, drinks contaminated water, has sex with an angry, diseased woman. Eating bad or raw meat, and cold, sunlight, country, season, and unfavorable planetary conditions cause it to cause delirium.
Diagnosis and symptoms
Patients with delirium fever experience the sudden onset of inflammation or and chills, mood swings, All the senses renouncing their respective religions, severe pain throughout the body, bones, joints, and head, red and black eyes, and tears. There is noise in the ears, pain in the ears, obstruction of the throat, drowsiness, infatuation, senseless talk, cough, shortness of breath, anorexia, delusion, blackening of the tongue, and itching and tight, bloody phlegm, sleep during the day and not at night. Sweating a lot or not at all, suddenly crying or laughing, singing, feeling dizzy, feeling very thirsty, chest pain, no urination and if it goes down then yellow, red or black and in small amounts, the body becomes weak, Coughing in the throat, slurred speech or not being able to speak, ripening of lips and mouth, feeling of heaviness in the abdomen, stools being black and white and like pork and coming down or not, and pulse rate can be felt slow and erratic.
If any of these symptoms appear in patients, then they should know that they have life forces is that Irritable and hence delirium fever.
For delirium (sannipat) fever, a clever doctor should treat the patient using mantras, tantras, yantras, cautery, stings, and excellent herbs and save him from the mouth of death, because there is not much difference between delirium and death. Saving such patients can be considered a victory for the doctor.
Remedies for delirium (Tridosha) fever
Give a patient with delirium fever to drink boiled water that is half of the remaining boiled water (remain half of the boiled water) to add 4 to 5 grams of dry ginger powder. This water should be taken from a water source that is soft and disorder-free and boiled water during the day, drink during the day and boiled water at night, drink at night.
To keep delirium patients under the care of a discerning person.
Keep the patient in a place where there is no movement of cold wind and do not do cold treatments.
After seven days give decoction (kawath).
Decoction (kawath)
Aromatic fruit of myristica, pipramol, holarrhena pubescens, blue glory, dry ginger, green chirayta, black pepper, pepper, galls, inula racemosa, pluchea sericea, dwarf wild brinjal, carom seed, lovage, stone flower, acorus calamus, cyclea peltata, and pepper climber, take this all herbs in equal quantity and crushed it.
Take 4 to 5 grams of this powder and make a decoction of it and drink it twice a day in the morning and evening. Consume this herb, fever of delirium, if the knowledge of all items is destroyed, sweating profusely, delirium, colic, windiness in the stomach, and diseases of flatulence and cough are eliminated.
The root of the giant calotrope, green chirayta, cedar, pluchea carolinensis, Indian privet, acorus calamus, spinous fire brand teak, drumstick, pepper, pepper climber, plumbago zeylanica root, dry ginger, Indian atees, and eclipta, half-crushed these herbs and make with it decoction. Drinking this decoction twice in the morning and evening cures delirium, tetanus, jaw tightness, disease of puerperal women, shortness of breath, cough, and disease of vata.
Powder (Churna)
When the tongue of the patient suffering from delirium has become numb, make a paste of citron’s saffron, rock salt, and black pepper and apply it on the tongue so that the numbness is removed.
Steam
Acorus calamus, the pulp of liquorice, rock salt, black pepper, and pepper, take all these herbs and take a fine powder, then put this powder in hot water and vaporing it. By taking this steam nasal, the patient who has lost his sanity gets knowledge.

2 5 tank (22 gram) pure sulfur
3 10 Tank (44 gram) Trikatu (Dry ginger, Black pepper, and Pepper)
First mix pure mercury and pure sulfur (make kajjali) and then cover it 3 times of datura’s seeds juice and then levigate it in the mortar till one day.
Then add the fine powder of trikatu in it and mix well. Sniffing this stream of juice cures the disease of delirium. This juice is called “unmatt ras”.
Bhairavanjan Ras (Anjan) (collyrium)
1 10 Tank (44 grams) Pure Nepala Seeds
2 1 Tank (4.4 gram) Black pepper
3 1 Tank (4.4 gram) Pipramol
Mixing the above three herbs in the juice of jambiri (a kind of sour lemon) for 3 days in the mortar and applying this collyrium into the eyes destroys delirium.
Pure Mercury, Pure Sulfur, Black pepper, and Pepper Take the equal amount of all these herbs and take three times more weight Pure Nepala Seeds.
First, commix well pure mercury and pure sulfur (make kajjali). Add black pepper, pepper, and Nepala seeds to this mixture (kajjli) and levigate. After that, levigate it in mortar for 8 days in the juice of jambiri, applied this collyrium to the eyes delirium is destroyed. This juice is called “Bhairavanjan ras”.
Seeds of siris tree, pepper, black pepper, rock salt, garlic, arsenic sulfide, and Acorus calamus, take all of these herbs in an equal amount and make fine powder and levigate it in cow’s urine in mortal for one day. Applied this collyrium to the eyes delirium is destroyed.
Panchvatkra Ras
1 5 tank (22 grams) pure mercury
2 5 tank (22 grams) pure sulfur
3 5 Tank (22 grams) pure glory lily
4 5 tank (22 grams) pure borax
5 5 tank (22 grams) black pepper
First, commix mercury and sulfur well (make kajjali). Then add other herbs and mix well and then levigate in mortal with the juice of Datura seeds for three hours. Dryness of this herb and taking it in two Ratti remove terrible delirium.
After consuming this herb, eat curd rice. This juice is called “Panchvatkra Ras”.
Swachchhand Bhairavaras
1 4 tank (17.6 grams) pure mercury
2 4 tank (17.6 grams) pure sulfur
3 4 Tank (17.6 grams) pure glory lily
4 3 tank (13.2 grams) nutmeg
5 7 tank (30.8 grams) pepper
First, commix the mercury and sulfur (make kajjali). Then add the rest of the mashed herbs into it. Levigate this mixture in ginger juice for a day and make pills according to the weight in one Ratti (0.182 gram).
Taking one pill or one Rati (0.182 gram) of this herb cures fever of delirium, malaria, cholera, epilepsy, typhoid fever, chronic fever, dyspepsia, and disease of the head. This juice is called Swachchhand Bhairavaras.
Remedy for terrible delirium
Pure Mercury, Pure glory lily, Black pepper, Blue vitriol, and Ammonium chloride, take these all herbs in equal quantity and fine mash. Then mix it in Datura and garlic juice and make roti (cake thicker) and tie it on the patient’s head (to remove the hair from the patient’s head).
Keep this roti (cake thicker) on the patient’s head for 3 hours. If the patient feels heat and comes in conscious then the patient lives but if he does not feel the heat then he will not live.
Take garlic, black mustard, and root of golden shower tree and mash a fine in cow’s urine. Make a roti (cake thicker) of this medicine. After removing the hair of the patient’s head and rubbing glory lily powder on the head, tie this roti on the head and keep it for three hours.
If the patient feels the heat and consciousness through the use of this herb, then the patient will live otherwise not.
Severe delirium is cured by giving scorpion sting to a patient suffering from terrible delirium.
Biting a black snake brings consciousness to the patient suffering from delirium.
While these remedies are the best but don’t do them because they are against folk.
Heat the iron rod very hotly and stigma in the soles of the feet, in the middle of both eyebrows, or in the forehead, so that the delirium is destroyed.
Extrinsic Fever (aagantuka jwar)
Genesis
It is not possible to describe extrinsic fever one by one as it occurs in many ways. So in a few and all possible aspects have been covered.
By striking any weapon i.e. by hitting a stone, stick, kick, sword or any sharp weapon, by sex, anger, grief, fear or rage of ghost, by the mantra-tantra performed by an enemy, by the curse of Brahman, Guru, old man, Siddha, etc., Fever (fever) caused by eating poison, feverish person or touch of a poisonous plant, and caused by bad-smelling or bad tasting herbs generate fever. This fever is called Extrinsic Fever (aagantuka jwar).
Shortcoming (Vata-pitta-Kapha) is not a cause of Extrinsic Fever (aagantuka jwar) as it is caused by affliction but the shortcoming is joined to it after the onset of fever.
Symptoms of a fever caused by the beating of a weapon
The beating of the weapon causes pain and it causes the air (Vata) to be excited due to the pain, this irritated air spoils the blood and causes pain and swelling in the place as well as the color of the injured part of the body changes. Thus the relation of air (Vata) produces fever.
Remedy
